Physiotherapists

Maggie McKenzie

Maggie graduated from the West Australian Institute of Technology in 1981 with a Bachelor of Applied Science (Physiotherapy). She has worked in a variety of fields, with her main interests being neurological physiotherapy and paediatrics. Maggie has worked in the West Tamar area for 20 years and is committed to supporting small businesses in this great region.  Maggie is also an accredited PD Warrior trainer and Licensee*.

Adam Torlach

Adam graduated from the University of Queensland with a Master of Physiotherapy Studies in 2017 after previously completing a Bachelor of Exercise Science at the University of Tasmania in 2015. Adam has a special interest in musculoskeletal physiotherapy and believes in delivering holistic treatment which is specific and individualised for each client. He is a certified GLA:D® Australia Physiotherapist for the treatment of hip and knee osteoarthritis. Adam has attended several courses dealing with the shoulder and upper quadrant in addition to completing courses in PD Warrior, Dry Needling and RockTape®.

Kirsten Britton

Kirsten graduated with a Master of Physiotherapy from the University of South Australia in 2021 after previously graduating with a Bachelor of Exercise Science from the University of Tasmania in 2019. Kirsten is a certified GLA:D® Australia Physiotherapist for the treatment of hip and knee osteoarthritis, and is also developing her skills in a variety of interest areas including musculoskeletal, neurological and paediatric fields. Kirsten is committed to treating her clients beyond their injury, which in turn allows them to reach their goals and succeed in many areas of life.

Allied Health Assistants

Zoe Robertson

Zoe graduated from the University of Tasmania in 2021 with a Bachelor of Exercise and Sport Science. Upon finishing her studies, she is enjoying gaining further experience in the areas of rehabilitation and exercise delivery. Zoe enjoys being able to be hands on with clients and assisting them, with the guidance of our Physiotherapists, to achieve their goals and outcomes, enabling them to have a greater quality of life.

Zoe plans to continue her studies later on in either Exercise Physiology or Physiotherapy.

Adam Lewis

Adam graduated from the University of Tasmania with a Bachelor of Exercise and Sport Science in 2021. He has since commenced his Masters of Physiotherapy, and will soon be a fully qualified Physiotherapist. Adam enjoys working with clients and seeing them get the best out of themselves.

While Adam has been studying, he has continued to work as an Allied Health Assistant. Outside of work and study Adam’s interests are in sports such as Football, Golf etc.

Georgia Henderson

Georgia has worked at West Tamar Physiotherapy since 2021. Georgia is currently studying Exercise and Sport Science at the University of Tasmania and will graduate in late 2024. Georgia also has her Certificate III and IV in Fitness through the Australian Institute of Personal Training (2019).

In 2021, Georgia also completed her Matwork Pilates certificate and takes one-on-one Pilates sessions.

Emily Withington

Emily has recently completed a Bachelor’s Degree in Exercise and Sport Science at the University of Tasmania, and hopes to continue her study in the future. Emily is passionate about the health and wellbeing of individuals, particularly involving exercise delivery and rehabilitation, and is committed to expanding her knowledge. She plans to continue her studies in either Physiotherapy or Exercise Physiology.

Emily is currently obtaining her ASCA Level 1 Strength and Conditioning qualification and is also an Accredited Level 1 Sports Trainer.

April Jolly

April joined the West Tamar Physiotherapy team in early 2022 as a part-time Allied Health Assistant. Prior to joining West Tamar Physiotherapy, April had been working as a Community Support Worker over a ten year period. She continues to work part-time as a Community Support Worker as she loves the role.

April has qualifications in Aged, Home & Community and Disability along with a Certificate III in Allied Health Assistance and a Certificate IV in Community Services which were completed in 2021.

Assisting people to live independently is something that April is passionate about. She enjoys assisting people using a holistic approach.

Jesse Fulton

Jesse graduated from the University of Tasmania in 2019 with a Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science. He enjoys helping people improve their health and wellbeing. Jesse is also passionate about sports and sports performance, particularly soccer, which he currently plays and coaches.

Jesse is enjoying working with both young and older athletes, helping them improve sports performance and remain injury free. Although not currently studying, Jesse may look to further his knowledge by completing an ASCA certification, or a Masters degree in Exercise Physiology in the future.

Abbie Chugg

Abbie is the newest member of our team and has joined us after working in the retail sector. Abbie possesses a strong passion for sports and exercise, where you’ll often find her on the soccer field or enjoying quality time with friends and family outside of work. Abbie is an enthusiastic person who is dedicated to assisting individuals in enhancing their health and overall well-being.

Administration

Carolyn Rundle

Carolyn joined the team in early 2022, bringing a wealth of administration knowledge and experience with her. She is the friendly voice on the other end of the phone line and smiley face often greeting our lovely clients!

Melissa Walker

Melissa joined our team mid-2023 taking on various administrative roles within our busy practice. Her experience in this area is invaluable and we have loved welcoming another friendly face to our team.
